Hello,

From now on i will post everyone who exits the game because this 15 game lose streak is getting on my nerves.

I would like to know if a user is a leaver if the exit message is "connection timed out" or "unable so sync".

I don`t want to post unlucky people that are not leavers.

Regards

kizo

Sync messages are never leavers. They are very unfortunate events.

Timed out is probably a genuine disconnect, not sure tough, it could be a plug.
And banning the leavers is no solution for a public system. I made a longer post about this somewhere. The short answer is that you cannot fix a public system. You can ban a leaver, if the leaver is in a netcafe, all he has to do is make a new account on a different PC. There is no system on the Earth that can tell that those two accounts are used by the same player. So he can just leave another game.

The only way to solve this is by making some sort of matchmaking or a tier system that takes into account your games played and reliability, it would need a barrier of entry (X games played below Y disc ratio).

People expect a new system that is "leaver-free", well lets assume you are one of those people. You join this new system with your zero game count. The system knows nothing about you, why would it put you with 9 trusted and reliable players so that you can have a "leaver-free" game when actually you are the person that is most likely to leave and ruin the game.

Players forget that it is theoretically impossible to create such a system, yet a lot of them still expect it.
The solution to the problem is not fixing the public system and the leavers, it's making a better system that takes those into account.

I am aware that banning is not a solution. Timeban is a temporary solution to warn them that leaving the game is not accepted. I am confident that at least some of them will be kept out from a high level room or a system that flags you for leaving in the last 20 matches and does not accept you in a specific room and moves you to public.
