I think this program is cool and just got done registering, but after reading through some posts I'm not so sure now

I understand it is in the baby stages and isnt fully matured

From what I understand this wont ever tell u,whos better than who

whats the point when losers get the same points as the winners

in the end the only point of these so called ranks is to show that these people stayed to the end of the game

theres no way to judge things like feeding, newbness, pooling, or pretty much anything else that has to do with DotA

side question: are numbers easily retrieved by a program like this, as in can you get the numbers for denies, hero kills, and creeps killed

just found this poll about same thing http://www.dotarank.com/index.php?topic=159.0

You will be able to report people like feeders, game ruiners etc ...

the ranking system is still being thought over. We may introduce an elo rating.
As you said it well, the program is in its starting stage, a lot will change and a lot will happen.

The purpose is to enhance the dota community. We want a mature community that is as free of game ruiners as it can possibly can be.
Also does it enable you to ping through firewalls, which is a big advantage. And it is not like wc3banlist where you have people abusing the banlist for their purpose, bans here are judged by the system and ban requests will go through a jury.

skill is not always about killing creeps and heroes. it's about pushing and destroying the throne/tree. skill also is supporting your team. And all that can't really be noticed by a program

To finally answer this topic then I will close it.

The development team is working on a ranking system based on "skill". So just hang out there, it is being worked on.

But when i do -rankall, it writes nothing only the website of A.Rank. :www.dotarank.com and when i looked at the program, the N/a still n/a, the names are Open and the Ping is Delay, it's onyl show the game name. The current system is under revision, with SP1 it takes a while to load all the users. The commands only work in a game lobby, not when you're already playing. And you have to wait for .Arank to load all the players.

Each user's rank is currently retrieved in sequential order with a http request (hidden from the user). The next revision should probably either a) multithread the requests so that rank requests can overlap if needed rather than waiting for the previous to finish, or b) revise the backend php application to accept multiple user inputs and return an array of values that is parsed by the dotarank application so that it effectivly happens all at once, or c) something new altogether that is better than what I can think of. :)
