Hi Dan. Can you tell how many of the Restless game was done before it was frozen?
Hi Dan. Can you tell how many of the Restless game was done before it was frozen?
Hehe - "frozen" - I like that was of describing it.
The truth is that not much was done - the story was done of course, but production wise, we only made a prototype demo.

And there the second question goes: how much of the "Corrosion" game is done? Can we hope that it will not end up in the freezer near the "Restless"?
We have a fully functional and fully playable demo for Corrosion that has about an hour of gameplay in it.
Corrosion WILL NOT end up like Restless simply because financially it is cheaper to make, so there is no problem in that respect.
Restless was a large game that required a large budget. Corrosion was designed to be a great game, but not so expensive to make.

You're trying to save on character animations an using rendered backgrounds instead of drawn one? Will there be any ingame animations at all in the "Corrosoin" or will it mostly look like Ghost in the Sheet? (as far as I know capabilities of Wintermute engine, Corrosion will not be panoramic?)
There are some cutscene videos - do they count as animation?
And yes it's a slideshow style as opposed to panoramic.

But aside from cutscenes, will there be some little animation like rotating fans, running rats or there will be only static backgrounds?
Oh sure there will be little things like that. We already have some animated computer monitors.
Maybe even some rotating rats... ;D

But no running fans? :(
