Ban Request Competition
You may click on any of the above underlined contents/posts and it will bring you directly to that section.
RGC Staffs/ RGC Admins feel free to edit this post if I missed anything, or if you can word anything better.
It is worth remembering: Our ban system works on the computer which means that creating a new account or even changing IPs won't really help. The ban will remain on offender's computer no matter what. Furthermore, there's a ban request contest going on right now, so you may be rewarded for your contribution.
In response to some malicious comments made in ban request section:
RGC Staffs/ RGC Admins volunteer their time here. No one gets paid. We don't get any extra benefits. . If you want to continue complaining about the service you're getting, well, feel free. Just know that complaining isn't going to help.
Your Donated? Cool, we really appreciate your contribution. However, contrary to popular belief, we Admins are volunteers. We don't see or receive any money or special privileges (besides being able to Ban people, which is part of our Job.
You want to make a suggestion? Great, but please make it in the proper section of the forum by clicking here.
1) Make sure to enter the correct offense. Entering the wrong offense could lead to a !DENY. Although most admins don't look at just one player, they look at the whole team (or even all the players) . Entering the correct offense can help us tremendous.
2) To process your ban request faster and more smoothly we need as much information as possible. It includes the time of the offense ( except for leave requests). If there are several offenses include all of them, and admins will either ban for the first offense or the most serious offense.
3)There is a growing number of people who are mis-categorizing ban requests or not posting the times in the replay where offenses occur. Because of this, admins are having to watch whole replays and/or ask for clarification, which takes exorbitant amounts of time.
From this day forwards, if you mis-categorize a ban or don't post all times, you will likely be asked to by an admin.
You will have two days to respond and clarify or elaborate before the ban is denied and locked.
4) Pluggers - Yes, we do ban them, but you may be wondering how you can find out if someone is a plug puller, or he just got a genuine disconnect. It's easy.
You can detect intentional pluggers by checking their stats here. If they have an amount of disconnects equal to 30% or above it's considered bannable.
You have to use your common sense and check the number of games played by the them, for instance: if someone plays two games and gets disconnected from one game his stats will obviously say that his disconnects ratio is 50%.
5) We DON'T ban for:
Low Skill, Non-Intentional Feeding (beginner's skill level). Remember. It is only bannable if they are doing it on purpose. There is a difference between going 0-8 while trying your best and mindlessly running into towers or a team to die.
Being a noob isn't bannable. The best thing to do is help out your team's noob(s). Give them tips and suggestions, so they may assist the team, rather than bog it down.
Backdooring - It is a strategy that can easily be avoided with simple in-game items. This is NOT a bannable offense.
Trash talking and/or flaming is not bannable. This is an online game where trash talking will occur - some may consider it a strategy. However, if it turns into excessive spamming/flaming (floods the screen/impedes proper game play) -- then a ban may be warranted.
6) Every ban request MUST have a replay uploaded. If you can't upload a replay through www.adoparser.com , use a different website or add it as an attachment.
7) Try to refrain from swearing. Yes, he ruined your game, we understand, just don't swear here there's really no need for it.
8) Post times - You already have a general idea of when the crime was committed (or take note of it during game), the Admin doesn't. Post accurate times to aid the Admins time and work. It would take 10 minutes of your time to save 60 minutes of an Admin's time. =) If it's a map-hack request, and you don't post times; it will most likely be ignored.
9) Please include accurate times - to the second. Use either the Game-Clock (near gold at the top of the screen) or the elapsed time when posting times.
10) Bans are discretionary
Admins review each replay, so it is up to the Admin discretion, whether a player should get banned or not. For example, a ban won't be warranted if a Tiny tosses his ally to death a few seconds/minutes before his team wins. A ban would be warranted if he tossed his ally to death at some time during the game without good reasoning. That also may be discretionary, as Tiny has no choice in what unit around him, he tosses, and sometimes tossing an ES into a big group might be the best thing to do.
REMEMBER, BANS ARE DISCRETIONARY. JUST BECAUSE ONE PERSON GOT BANNED FOR IT, DOESN'T MEAN THE PERSON IN YOUR GAME WILL. VICE VERSA.
So please, do your part - post times, proper offenses as well as the proper link for the replay. Doing this will always get your Request processed faster and much smoother. Again, if you donated we appreciate your donations but please try to remember, us Admins are human and do have other responsibilities. If you see 2-3 pages of Ban Requests, you can try to help us out and who knows, you may end up as an Admin/Moderator yourself. =)
